Anthropic's new study confirms that using AI to make music is lame.
Are you ai fluent?
Anthropic just released a study on how people tend to use ai. I think it explains why ai music is so corny.

Ai music is everywhere all of a sudden, so here are my thoughts on it (youtube).
Read Anthropic's new report, and see how you stack up on the Ai Fluency Index. Check out the study here: https://www.anthropic.com/research/AI-fluency-index

FEBRUARY 27 2026 SELECTIONS
1.
Before you dig into deathtoricky, I think it's important that you watch the music video for today's first selection.
This 19 year old kid from ireland is producing saturated, melodic, clipped out cloud rap, and I really like it.

Soundcloud still exists. I'll say more on this later, because I'm still reorienting myself on the once-familiar platform, but for now I'll say this: I may have found where all the interesting "indie electronic" folks are hanging out. More soon.
For now, here's a track I found last week on Soundcloud. I listened to it once, listened to it again. Forgot about it. Woke up the next day with it stuck in my head, but couldn't, for the life of me, remember where the song came from. I hummed it into Shazam, no luck. I listened to some Dijon b-sides to no avail, dabbled in some Daniel Ceasar, even some Ruben Aziz, but came up empty.
And then, all at once, it came to me. "Oh yeah!" I cried out, "I used Soundcloud again yesterday for a sec, of course this is proving to be so difficult!"
And here we arrive at the crux of the issue. Soundcloud rules, but as you may have noticed at the top of this selection, it is also a platform that only exists if you remember that it exists. If a banger gets dropped on Soundcloud and is never eligible for algorithmic discovery on your Discover Weekly, does it make a sound?
